Since ride routes change often, I am no longer posting these. Most shops/groups have the GPS files available on their websites. The page is updated at the beginning of every Daylight Saving Time and throughout the year as we are made aware of ride changes. Please note that all times are PM (afternoon/evening) unless otherwise stated. Check with the sponsoring organization for specifics about any rides. Many rides stop after Daylight Savings Time ends. All ride times given are Daylight Saving Time unless noted. You ride at your own risk and assume all responsibility for yourself and your equipment. Southeastern Cycling, Trish Albert, and the sponsoring ride groups are not responsible if you get lost or hurt on these rides. Athens rides can be found at Athens GA Bicycling. Expect to be dropped and be on your own if you cannot keep up with the group.
If you have them, do NOT ride in them in the group. Aerobars or tri-bikes are not allowed on group rides. Unless specified, these are hard training rides geared towards advanced riders and racers and those that have group riding experience. Some rides do not have a leader and are “pick up rides.” Contact the ride leader/shop/club to verify that the ride is still going on. These rides are put on by various organizations and bike shops around the greater metro Atlanta area. Please check with your favorite Zwift group on social media for rides and races. This is not a resource for Zwift or virtual/e-rides, only in person rides. I have done my best to only list rides that are currently going on as of May 2022.Ī note about Zwift rides.

Beyond that, it’s good to carry a water bottle, and the basic repair kit consisting of tire patches or extra tube, a pump and a tool or two. The one firm requirement for participating is that you wear a bicycle helmet and have a bicycle whatever type you like to ride. However, they will never be beyond the abilities or inclinations of everyone who shows up. As the season progresses and our riders gain more confidence in their cycling abilities, we will probably get more ambitious and lengthen the rides a bit.
At first, the rides will likely be no longer than 5-10 miles with few (if any) hills and frequently along the Erie Canal. The rides will be chosen to fit the group that shows up and no one will be left behind. Our goal is to provide every participant with a fun experience as well as one where they can gain more knowledge about our sport and maybe even a higher level of fitness, but let’s not get carried away.
There will always be at least two experienced riders present to help with equipment and to offer advice. then the 6:00 PM Tuesday night Slow’n Easy Ride is the one for you.Ī more challenging ride is also offered most Tuesday nights also starting at the same park. if you are an experienced rider who only wants to go slowly and look around more.if you want to bring the kids along for a slow group ride.if you want a ride that is relatively flat.if you want to ride on roads with little or no traffic.if you are new to riding or just starting again.The weekly Tuesday Night “Slow’n Easy Rides” are for people who are new to cycling or just don’t want to go fast or just can’t you may have noticed the latter has happened to some of us.
